Everleigh Gwendalynn

Gwynn Orofino- 2017

Gwynn 2017

Gwynn is an eye-catching, golden buckskin, registered Half-Welsh mare, born in 2013.  She is by Gayfields Bling! Bling!, out of my registered Half-Connemara mare Alley (Alley's dam was a registered paint with predominately Thoroughbred lines). She is about 14.3 hands and weighs approximately 900 lbs.

She has been handled regularly from birth using Natural Horsemanship methods. She has a calm personality, loves attention and is curious and interactive. She leads, ties, bathes, clips, loads, stands for the farrier, blankets, is easy to catch, and is well mannered to work around.

Gwynn had professional ground training as a two-year-old (2015), and her ridden training was started as a three-year old (2016) by a natural horsemanship trainer*. Her initial under saddle training was followed up with a spring tune-up in 2017. Her training was then refined by an English trainer* in the spring of 2018 and 2019.

Gwynn is well started but not finished. She has good basics down and is ready to learn some new skills. She has a soft, long willing stride at the walk, trot and canter.  We have used simple dressage in her training plus lots of little exercises with poles, barrels and trail obstacles. She enjoys doing different things rather than being drilled on one thing, so these exercises help get the training in in a fun way for her. She has been ridden out and around the acreage, and in her 3 year old training, did a little out on trails. She seems to like getting out of the arena and is interested but not spooky about her surroundings. She has been started over small jumps, which she enjoys.

She has been successfully shown in hand in Welsh breed shows, winning Grand Champion Half-Welsh on more than one occasion. She has also been introduced to and won ribbons in ridden English Pleasure, and in-hand and ridden trail classes.

Gwynn is not for beginners since she needs someone who can continue her training. She is best suited to ages mid-teen or older since she responds well to direction from core strength and thigh. I think she would be happiest with someone who wants to give her a lot of love and attention, and who likes to do a variety of equestrian activities.

A knowledgeable home with lots of attention, generous turn-out, and equine company is required.

****************************************************************************Bro a Bryn Angharad

Angharad (Hari) is a beautiful 2006 14.2 h Bay Section D Welsh Cob Mare with outstanding imported bloodlines that would be a great asset to a Section D breeding program.

Sire: *Trefaes Mabon Victor – imported Section D

(Fronarth Victor x Trefaes Bessie)

Dam: *Nantgwinau Samantha – imported Section D

(Derwen Desert Express x Nantgwinau Rosina)

This lovely mare is trained to ride but a experienced a soft tissue stifle injury in the fall of 2019. After resting for the year, a lameness test of the injured leg, performed on September 1, 2020 showed no stifle lameness and the veterinarian said that she was ready to be ridden again.

At this time, she is offered as a potential brood mare with the possibility of return to ridden work. She is sweet natured, with a desire to please, and very well mannered to handle. Apart from her injury she has had no health issues in the three years I have owned her.

An advanced sensitive rider is recommended if return to ridden work is desired.

Possible package deal to include Angharad's lovely kind dam, *Nantgwinau Samantha. (1999, 14.3 h bay). Although Samantha is not offered for sale alone, she may be available to the right home if she can remain with Angharad, since the two mares are bonded. Samantha is green broke and currently being enjoyed as a recreational riding horse. She could potentially be bred again.  Inquire for more details.
